Once you complete your security training through MDSPOSA, you are eligible for sponsorship through our security company, USTASC. However, you must have received training from MDSPOSA to be eligible for sponsorship.

In Maryland, after you complete training, you are required to process with a security company or a security employer in order to obtain your security guard card. We will process this application for you for a nominal fee.

State Fee: $15.00
Fingerprinting Fee: Varies Depending on where you get fingerprinted (Estimate $65)

Processing Fee: $50.00

After you obtain your training, you will receive an informational packet about how to complete the sponsored application, but here are the steps:

​

1. Obtain your certificate from us, you can sign up for a class here

2. Purchase your sponsorship package & sign the agreement/waiver

3. Get your LiveScan fingerprints taken at any LiveScan locations (there are many in the state)

4. Log on to the state licensing portal, complete the application and upload your certificate and your LiveScan receipt. Once completed, the system will email you an application number and a pin number.

5. Send us a copy of your driver's license, live scan receipt, any naturalization paperwork, and the certificate that you were issued by us, using an online form that we provide you with as well as the application number and pin number provided to you by the state application system. 

6. You must verify that you are the person that appears on your driver's license by a live zoom call.
